When I heard from a couple of different mamas that Magnesium can help relieve some uncomfortable pregnancy symptoms like morning sickness and insomnia, I was intrigued. Since Magnesium is most easily absorbed through the skin, I made some Magnesium oil spray. Unfortunately, I haven’t been very good about actually applying it as much as I should.
Part of the problem with the Magnesium oil spray is that it stung when I applied it to my arms and legs, though putting it on my belly is usually ok. Ideally I would spray it on, allow it to absorb for 20 or 30 minutes and then shower it off. You mamas can imagine how often I have that much free time!
I have been wanting to try Magnesium oil lotion for a while now as a more comfortable alternative. On the day when I was just about to order the ingredients to make my own, Justyn of Creative Christian Mama offered to let me try some from her shop. I tried the single strength without rosemary since I’m pregnant. To learn more about Justyn and her journey with Magnesium check out her post on How to Make Magnesium Oil Lotion.
With the healthy Magnesium mixed into creamy soothing lotion, I didn’t have any more troubles with stinging. In fact, I’ve been using it as belly butter to help with my itchy pregnancy belly.
Since Magnesium deficiency can lead to trouble sleeping, I decided to work the Magnesium oil lotion into our bedtime routine with my sleepless BabyE. We have never done baby massage before. Now as soon as he sees the adorable little jar of Magnesium oil lotion he starts motioning for me to rub his belly. He loves it!
I love having a product that has ingredients as pure as if I had made it myself. It’s even better that it comes handmade from a mama-owned business!
